Populo School is part of our family. If your child is not a pure study type, then you certainly know the moments when you argue at home while learning and preparing for school. Thanks to School Populo, our home became a peaceful and quiet place. Our 12-year-old son attends one-on-one math and Czech tutoring. The tutor explains new topics that he may not understand. They practice what he struggles with, do homework, and, of course, do preparation for high school admission exams. We are all completely satisfied. That’s why our 9-year-old daughter decided that she also wants to attend math tutoring at School Populo from September. Our son attends two lessons a week regularly. If we need to, we ask for a lesson during the weekend. The tutor, Miss Anička, is amazing. Our son loves her very much and constantly talks about her at home. I’ve been a teacher at Populo School for some time now. Like any job, tutoring has its pros and cons. To start less positively, especially when preparing for admission exams, it is a demanding job, both in terms of time and head. Both for me as the tutor who has to teach students, be it at seven in the evening or three in the afternoon, I still have to be just as fresh and well prepared, and for coordinators who are literally struggling with the time possibilities of students and tutors that need to match. However, these negatives are well outweighed by the friendly atmosphere, pleasant tutoring premises, and the fact that students do not have to be afraid to go to School Populo, the evaluation is not set as numbered grades, but the tutors use letters to express students’ progress and activity. The amount of textbooks and teaching materials only complements all the positives that the Populo School is proud of. If someone told me that I would have tutoring as fun and I would look forward to every lesson, I would not believe it. However, with School Populo, this idea came true, not only because the tutors are "tailor-made" for each student. Every tutor has to start somewhere, and School Populo is an ideal place for that. The coordinators will help, advise and do everything to make every tutoring a success. The plus is that the positive energy spreads uncontrollably from the reception to other areas :)

She tutors chemistry in such a way that students are not afraid of it and understand it in context. Jitka has been working at Skola Populo since autumn 2017, where she tutors German. She has been tutoring for several years, helping weaker classmates. Her dream was to become a teacher, which eventually came true after many difficulties. The biggest reward for the “work” done for her is above all the students’ success, as well as the smile and glowing eyes, which means that they understand. The goal of her tutoring is not only trying to teach the students something but also to learn something from them. Mrs. Bauerová is a retired math teacher. She taught mathematics and physics for 40 years in the second level of primary school. Barbora is a student of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, the Faculty of Theology, in the master’s program in philosophy. As a true philosopher (lover of wisdom), she tries to pass on this wisdom to others and helps them develop. She also doesn’t lack the ability to empathize with the needs of others. A tutor simply has to engage and be able to “teach well”, which is sometimes really tricky. Communication between the tutor and the student is equally important. Although we can hardly do without English today, especially for us Czechs, the role of the Czech language is important. Although it is our mother tongue, paradoxically, it is not one of the easier ones. Barbora prefers to spend her time in good company. She likes doing sports – especially fitness, swimming, and cycling.
